Local Planning Notes

What to keep in mind before you travel.

This is a full-day circuit best driven anticlockwise: Cape Town to Cape Point via the False Bay coast, then north through Simon's Town, Boulders Beach, Chapman's Peak Drive, and Hout Bay back to the city. Cape Point entrance fees and Boulders Beach conservation fees are paid at the gate. Book the Chapman's Peak toll online in advance. Allow flexible time at each stop as wildlife sightings are unpredictable.

01 Access & Terrain Varies by stop. Cape Point Nature Reserve involves some walking on gravel paths. Boulders Beach boardwalk is flat. Chapman's Peak Drive is a paved road. Hout Bay Harbour is accessible.
02 Best Visit Time Depart early (07:30–08:00) to reach Cape Point before midday crowds, then follow the peninsula north via Boulders Beach, Chapman's Peak, and Hout Bay for a relaxed return by late afternoon.
