Noordhoek

Noordhoek is a rural-feeling valley at the foot of Chapman’s Peak, with a huge beach, wetlands, mountain views, horses, village food, and a sense of space that is unusual so close to Cape Town. It is a landscape destination: the beach, weather, wetlands, and road are the experience.

Why visit Noordhoek?

Weather and timing

Morning is useful for a long walk or booked ride, while late afternoon can bring beautiful light across the beach and mountains. The beach is exposed: wind, cloud, sun, sand, and tide can change comfort quickly. Winter can be atmospheric but wetter; summer gives longer daylight while often bringing stronger coastal exposure and busier routes.

Build it into the Peninsula

Noordhoek pairs with Hout Bay across Chapman’s Peak, or with Kommetjie, Cape Point, and the southern Peninsula. Avoid stacking too many long drives and beaches into one day. If the weather closes the scenic road, use the valley and village as the destination rather than treating the pass as mandatory.
