About Wembley Roadhouse
Wembley Roadhouse on Belgravia Road in Athlone is one of South Africa’s most enduring culinary landmarks, operating since the 1930s. Combining old-school drive-in carhop service with traditional Cape Malay fast food, generations of Capetonians have pulled into Wembley’s parking lot to be served hot meals straight to their car windows.
Their signature creation is the iconic Wembley Whopper: a towering double-decker beef burger packed with braised onions, fried eggs, melted cheese, and savoury relish, paired with ultra-thick malted milkshakes.
