About Smasht Gourmet Burgers
Smasht is one of Cape Town’s great grassroots success stories, starting as an underground garage burger joint during lockdown and evolving into a cult smash burger powerhouse. Operating across the Southern Suburbs and pop-ups, Smasht focuses on pure technique: smashing 100% grass-fed beef paper-thin onto scorching steel to create rich caramelized crusts.
Paired with melted American cheddar, toasted brioche, and bespoke house-made truffled or smoky chipotle mayo, it has redefined burger standards in the suburbs.
