Why the winter drive on Chapman's Peak is actually the one worth taking.

Most visitors to Chapman’s Peak Drive come in summer, chasing the postcard image. But winter along the M6 is something else entirely. The light is lower, the sea is gunmetal grey, and there’s a 70 percent chance of dramatic cloud formations forming against the Sentinel.

The toll gate is also quieter. And the penguins at Boulders Beach tend to be more active. If you can handle a few degrees less, the views are considerably more interesting.
