Simon’s Town

Simon’s Town is a historic False Bay town where maritime history, naval life, beaches, marine wildlife, and peninsula scenery meet. Weather and timing

False Bay can feel different from the Atlantic Seaboard. Morning often gives a useful start for a full route and clearer flexibility around timed visits. Wind, cloud, rain, and marine conditions can still change the day, especially for boat trips and beaches. Keep an indoor museum or town walk as a useful fallback when outdoor plans shift.

Build it into a South Peninsula route

Simon’s Town pairs naturally with Kalk Bay, St James, Muizenberg, Boulders, and Cape Point. A thoughtful route chooses one main purpose—history, wildlife, beaches, or a scenic drive—then adds nearby stops that support it. The Two Oceans Aquarium is a good city-based marine alternative when a South Peninsula day is not practical.
