Our Story: Built on Local Roots
TruCape Tours was founded on a simple belief: that travel should feel like a natural conversation, not a rushed checklist. Based in Cape Town, we help travellers from around the world explore the unique landscapes, complex history, and vibrant cultures of the Cape Peninsula and Winelands through custom-designed private routes.
The city has mountains, two oceans, changing weather and layers of history close together. A good day is not about racing between every landmark. It is about choosing a few right places and having enough time to experience them properly.

Founder · TruCape Tours
Founded by lifelong Cape Town resident and seasoned travel designer Igshaan Jonathan, TruCape Tours is the culmination of decades of local guiding experience and deep regional knowledge. Growing up in Cape Town, Igshaan developed an early appreciation for the city’s unique position at the intersection of oceans, mountains, and diverse human narratives. His vision was to move away from standardized, bulk tourism and create a service that treats every visitor as an individual guest.
“Cape Town is too rich a city to be experienced through a bus window,” says Igshaan. “To truly understand the Cape, you need to step onto the cobblestones of Bo-Kaap, hear the sea breeze at Cape Point, and taste the soil in the Stellenbosch valleys. We build routes that allow you to slow down, connect with local stories, and discover the city at your own pace.”
